A Chicago and Detroit-based freelance stylist, writer and blogger, Taryn Bickley’s influences and inspirations begin with the portraits of Slim Aarons, head towards the stalls of Portobello Rd., and finish within the pages of her favorite glossies. Armed with a B.A. in English/Creative Writing from Denison University, and a MA in Fashion Journalism from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, she’s launched Metro Detroit Bride magazine, created a style blog called Sage & Style and contributed to a variety of national and regional publications and advertisements.
A former Senior Style Editor with Metro Detroit Bride and Detroit Home magazines, her work has appeared in Elle Décor, Redbook and Time Europe, and in regional publications such as Chicago, Chicago Home, CS Chicago Social, Hour Detroit, Detroit Home, Metro Detroit Bride, Luxe, 1 Magazine, Midwest Chicago Home, and Time Out Chicago. Bickley has styled national ad campaigns for the Detroit Zoo, The Henry Ford Museum, Orient Express Hotels, Eureka, Clek, United States Postal Service, Aero Bed, and Ford. She has previously interned at Alexander McQueen, Time Europe, Vogue.co.uk, Hour Magazine, and Joseph Abboud.
